The ESMTM can be installed in two separate configurations. The module can be installed conjointly with up to four Systems Interface Modules and up to two Intelligent Interface Modules, depending on the primary control system and the technology of the compressors. A complete system can control up to eight different channels.
The Network Controller (LCN) provides a maximum control of about eight channels through a SIM or IIM interface module. It controls the switching and communications function of the local network. More importantly, the LCN boasts three analog and two external digital inputs that can be assembled and set for temperature or suction measurements. The Communication Centre Software is available with the ESMTM. The software can be used to remotely monitor the operation of any ESMTM installation either through PC, LAN or modern connection. As many as 10 LNCs at an installation can be interconnected through an RS485 communication link to produce a Global Network. By connecting the LNC only one connection to the external network is required for each group of 10 LNC's. Once connected, operational data such as savings settings, saving priorities, set up information as well as logging data for each LNC on the network can be accessed, monitored, collected and amended via modem from anywhere in the world.
The System Interface Module (SIM) is connected in series with the air conditioning or refrigeration control circuit to optimize the compressor or the compressor capacity control operation. The SIM has two channels with a provision for external overrides that are activated by any type of external switching devices such as different thermostats or pressure switches. Up to four SIMs can be connected in series to a single LNC, supporting an average of 8 compressors.
The Intelligent Interface Module (IIM) is used in place of the standard SIMs when a temperature reset must be used during savings periods or when a slide valve is controlling the compressor capacity. Up to two IIMs can be connected in series to a single LNC. The IIM can provide compressor optimization without wiring directly into the control circuitry within the chillers. This also allows all the chillers safety features to continue uninterrupted. The IIM is wired precisely like a SIM module and will perform as if it were a SIM.
The ECO3™ is distinct from the ESM™ as it has the ability to save energy on the cooling and heating cycles of compressor driven heat pumps, providing considerable value to customers with these types of units. The ECO3™ is available in two different models, the ECO3™ Single or the ECO3™ Dual. The Single is compatible with single compressor air conditioning and refrigeration systems, while the Dual is compatible with any air-conditioning system with two compressors
